If you’re one of those people who is dashing around in a hybrid vehicle, then you’ve probably gotten that knowing nod from other hybrid drivers.  You recognize you are part of the movement to decrease our dependence on foreign oil, decrease carbon emissions, and−let’s be honest−save money at the pump.

It gives you a good feeling to maximize your mileage per gallon too. Chances are you’re a bit of a techie as well and enjoy the toots and whistles associated with driving cutting edge technology. You’re part of a green revolution.

This is why we are announcing the first ever MPG Race hosted by Earth Day in the Junction on April 20 . 2008 .  Here's your chance to share your strategies and skills for obtaining optimal mileage  and converse with other hybrid owners on tips and tricks. Sign up and join to compete in the Official MPG Race in recognition of Earth Day 2008 - here are the race details:

• Participants will compete for the best miles per gallon rating while covering a pre-determined 25-mile course, within the allotted 45 minute time.
• The driver with the best MPG for the 25 miles, achieved in 45 minutes or less, will win the Grand Prize, a $500 Gas Card!
• 2nd place will receive a $300 gas Card
• There will be $10 gas card prize for all other participants as well as a cool MPG magnet signifying that they are a MPG race participant. You are basically, getting your money back!!
• Celebrity hybrid owners will also participate to show their stuff and talk about their fuel-saving strategies along the 25-mile course.
• All competitors must have hybrids that have capability to measure actual mileage on computer readout.

$10 entry fee part of which will go toward a donation of monies to offset the carbon footprint of the event. You may register online here - then mail your check in seperately.
